Chicago Pneumatic was founded with a simple purpose: to create tools that were needed by construction workers but did not exist. The company produced air tools and rock drills - including the first single-valve pneumatic hammer and the first impact wrench.
As the United States continued to grow out and up, Chicago Pneumatic built tools to get the job done. Chicago Pneumatic created custom air and riveting for building highways, bridges, the Empire State Building, the World Trade Centers, Boeing 747s, and the Apollo Space Mission.
Norman Rockwell's iconic "Rosie the Riveter" has a Chicago Pneumatic riveting hammer in her lap, illustrating the company's link with American history and tradition.
Fun Fact: One of the company's original investors was a young Charles Schwab.
