DEWALT
Raymond E. DeWalt is a near folk figure to the DeWalt company. So legend goes, Raymond, while working in a woodworking mill, manufactured the first radial arm saw in a response to the mill's owner demanding more work for the same amount of money. In 1924 Raymond started DeWalt producing the company's trademark radial arm saw, originally billed as "the DeWalt Wonder-Worker."
In 1949 DeWalt was sold to American Machine & Foundry Co. Inc. who then sold the brand eleven years later to Black & Decker. Although Black & Decker eventually sold the radial arm saw division to focus on power tools, the DeWalt brand has remained as iconic and respectable as ever.
Fun Fact: If you want to buy a DeWalt radial arm saw you need purchase one through the Original Saw Company. Of course, it won't be called a DeWalt.
