*NOTE: We sell many DC to Dc chargers with 100% satisfaction but of late some vehicles now run a sophisticated charging system that "in laymans terms " the alternator ( also known as a "smart alternator" or "variable voltage alternator" ) charges at such a low voltage that it "fools" a standard type of DC to DC charger into thinking the vehicle is stationary therefore not charging the auxiliary battery .This mainly applies to some vehicles after 2010 THIS UNIT IS THE SOLUTION . This dc to dc charger senses this and compensates for whatever alternator technology it is connected to without the need for relays or bypass circuits etc.
VERSION 4 UPDATE MODEL.
The version 4 update is a significant improvement over the first ( original IDC25 ) with the primary improvements being:
1, Max solar input voltage ( open circuit ) up from 23 volts to 28 volts allowing for later technology and more effiecient panels to be connected .
2, Software changes to prioritise Alternator charge over solar panel input creating a faster charge rate when driving for shorther distances on the road.
TELLING THE DIFFERENCE: There is no difference from the outside of the box , the difference is identifiable on only the unit itself by the serial number now carrying the "V04" see example below . We cannot speak for other sellers but we only sell ( unless otherwise clealy stated ) the version 4 model .
Utilising the vehicle’s power, the IDC25 delivers a 3 stage charge to the auxiliary battery that steps up the voltage from as low as 9V - 32V ( Meaning this can be also be used on 24 volt vehicles to charge a 12 volt system ) input up to 15.4V output ( depending what battery technology is selected ). Ideal for charging deep cycle batteries commonly used in caravans, trucks, motor homes and 4WDs.

NOTE: The manual advises to use fuses to connect into this system for protection but CLICK to take you to a circuit breaker , this would be the best choice for connecting to this system because as well as being WATERPROOF, a circuit breaker ( compared to fuses ) nhas the advantage of if overloaded can be manually reset again on the spot , this compared to a fuse which when it blows needs to be replaced , let along the inconvenience of changing it if you have spare one.
